| Summary: | Starting from the quantitative relevance that translations of Latin literature with school purpose had in the middle of the 20th century, this paper briefly analyzes three of these translations seeking to identify their characteristics. Next, it points out the presence of similar characteristics in later translations, and conjecture about the qualitative influence of these school translations. Finally, it concludes that the existence of a school age is a fundamental element for understanding the history of the translation of Latin literature in Brazil in the 20th century. |
