Description
Summary:Autonomy is one of the pillars of Freire's pedagogy in the construction of an emancipatory and critical school and in the promotion of student freedom. In this article I propose to discuss the role of active learning methodologies in promoting students' autonomy. Active methodologies, in addition to developing the skills and competences of students, allow paths and new practices so that the student can be a protagonist in his own learning process. The article is bibliographical in nature and aims to analyze the extent to which active learning methodologies contribute to the promotion of learners' autonomy. We conclude that active teaching methodologies allow students to develop their autonomy and skills in the classroom.
